Environmental Management
Our Environment team in Europe provides sustainable solutions to
meet our clients’ many needs. Scott Wilson takes an integrated
approach to its consultancy advice. Our environmental planners work
side by side with our engineers, land use and transport planners to
understand the full range of strengths and weaknesses of a
proposal. We also work across the policy planning hierarchy,
providing advice on the policy context, or on large complex
multimodal infrastructure schemes through to local schemes
involving only one mode of transport. We have the full range of
environmental specialists in-house, including ecology, noise and
vibration, landscape and visual, contamination, air quality,
socio-economics, water and micro-climate.
Full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a pre-requisite
for planning consent. Since the accession of countries within the
Central & Eastern Europe Region to the European Union in 2004,
the requirement for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for
certain types and scales of development has become an integral part
of the development process. EIA has been undertaken for major
projects in the transport, waste, water and property sectors and
includes some of the region’s largest infrastructure projects.
