Scott Wilson Millennium Project
The Scott Wilson Millennium Project is a registered charity,
focussed upon the relief of poverty, hardship and distress among
children in developing countries throughout the world. We make no
profit from Project activities, and at least 95% of all proceeds
collected go directly to help children in the projects supported by
the Scott Wilson Millennium Project.
All of our donations are provided direct to source – there is no
danger of funds being lost via 3rd parties, and we witness an
immediate impact, even when donations are on a small scale. In this
way we ensure donations are used in the most effective way possible
and we ensure every donation makes a difference.
Since the Millennium Project started in 2000, we have raised
more than £90,000 through staff donations and provided support to
children’s projects in more than a dozen countries. Some of our
recent projects include:
The Scott Wilson School, Mozambique. In 2008, we are
building a school for 200 children. It cost us £25,000, but that’s
just £100 per child to give the gift of education, to give a child
an opportunity to raise themselves and their family out of poverty,
to give hope to a whole community. And not only are we financing
the school, we will ensure its operation for 5 years and have
offered 43 Scott Wilson employees the opportunity to volunteer to
help us build the school in Mozambique through our project partners
Quest.
The Christopher Care Home, Sri Lanka and the Masincedane Special
Care Home, South Africa. Our on-going projects to provide basic
care equipment to disabled children.
The Straseni Orphanage, Moldova; The Pamela Sewing Centre, Sri
Lanka; The Jayasekera Children’s Home, Sri Lanka; The Home of Joy,
Uganda; The Chikondi Children’s Home, Tanzania. Just some of our
projects which provide shoes, clothes, care equipment, washing
machines, medicines, playground equipment, computers and many other
items every year to hundreds of children.
The Sheila Kothavala Institute for the Deaf, India. £50 provides
a hearing aid for a child and gives the gift of hearing for life.
