Access Infrastructure to the Industrial Quay, Gdańsk Port

Project introduction
The task entailed the construction supervision of the
improvement of Industrial Quay section in the Port of Gdańsk.
Project background
The project is delivered as part of the Transport Sector
Operational Programme and is co-financed by the European Regional
Development Fund. The project aims to improve access to sea ports.
Scott Wilson project is a continuation of works carried out by the
Port of Gdańsk Authority, consisting of the improvement of a 250 m
section of Industrial Quay.
Project scope
Scott Wilson is the project Engineer, managing and supervising
the construction works of a 100 m section of quay in Port of
Gdańsk. Besides the reconstruction of Industrial Quay, the project
also includes of the construction of a new 600 m overpass of 50 ton
load capacity and pavement strength of 115 kN axle together with
access roads along Ku Ujściu Street. The reconstruction of Ku
Ujściu Street includes the reconstruction of the intersection with
Chemików Street (culvert and railway crossing) that will allow for
connection of the Port with Stogi Island. These will enable the
full access to a new wharf, 10 meter water depth minimum.
What we achieved
The aim of the project is to reinstate the operating capability
of Industrial Quay by providing access between the wharf and the
port’s development areas with the main access road to the port’s
eastern part. This will increase the port’s operating capacity. The
reconstruction of the industrial wharf is one of a number of
projects intended to modernize the port in the city of Gdańsk.
