Scott Wilson Wins Major Road Contract in Poland

The Polish General Directorate of National Roads (GDDKiA) has
appointed international consultancy Scott Wilson to manage and
supervise the construction of 17km of the S7 Expressway road.
The value of the contract to Scott Wilson is expected to be up
to £1.55million. Part of the Skarżysko – Kamienna - Występa S7
Expressway project, construction will begin in November 2008 and
will be completed within 24 months. The wider project is worth over
£145 million and in addition to the 17km of new road includes four
bypasses and 28 structures.
The expressway is a key route in Poland and of international
importance, connecting Scandinavian countries with southern Europe.
It also has one of the highest death rates in road accidents and
one of the aims of the new scheme is to improve road safety.

Europe, comments, “We are pleased to be awarded this contract win,
which reaffirms our reputation for delivering major
multi-disciplinary road projects in the region. I hope that
improvements to road safety for both local and transit traffic will
be one of the main outcomes of this project.”
Scott Wilson has also recently completed a second S7 Expressway
project in Poland which included a 16km section between Białobrzegi
and Jedlińsk.
