Retail
The Retail sector is a key area in the property market in which
Scott Wilson actively works. We aim to provide innovative
solutions and designs brought from a variety of commercial
sectors. The retail group endeavours to concentrate these
solutions across the client base and to provide experience and
strategic advice to other sectors, such as commercial and
mixed-use.
The retail operators are some of the most advanced and
sophisticated of the building owners and occupiers and see the need
for investment in areas such as sustainability and energy
efficiency. Scott Wilson is working with the industry leaders
developing advanced designs in CHP, trigeneration, fuel cell,
refrigeration and renewable energy solutions, beyond the current
government requirements. Close working partnerships are developed
to provide long-term design solutions capable of being upgraded and
expanded as developments are constructed.
Scott Wilson understands the need to make the retail shell units as
flexible and adaptable as possible; with a design life as short as
five years many retail units will be developed many times within
the life of the building, and be re-modelled and updated each
time.
The need to cater for any number of design options and
parameters is vitally important; from retail, independent and
multiple, restaurant or leisure, schemes must be adaptable in their
structure and building services.
Integrating life safety systems and public access and safety
together with the movement of the customers into and around the
building are some of the most important factors in the design of
successful retail units and Scott Wilson’s expertise in these areas
is able to provide the advice and design solutions needed at the
planning and implementation stages of a project.
